CHICAGO, IL – In partnership with the National Association of REALTORS®, the Green REsource Council announces the launch of the newly redesigned GreenREsourceCouncil.org, a Web site dedicated to promoting NAR’s Green Designation to consumers and REALTORS® alike. NAR’s Green Designation is the first of its kind from NAR and offers specialized green real estate training for residential, commercial and property management professionals.
“REALTORS® who earn NAR’s Green Designation put themselves at the forefront of the green real estate industry and this new site gives them access to a variety of member benefits including ongoing education, up-to-date green resources and professionally crafted marketing tools to help them promote their business,” said Al Medina, director of NAR’s Green Designation and the Green REsource Council. “This site not only promotes NAR's Green Designation, but it builds consumer and builder awareness and supports green real estate advocacy.”
Updating visitors on the latest news and events related to the green building industry, the new site strives to be the resource for consumers interested in learning more about green real estate and finding a real estate professional to help them in the process as well as a source for those interested in obtaining or learning more about NAR’s Green Designation.
Consumers can find a green designee in their area with a simple search, as well as gain access to a variety of green resources including a carbon footprint calculator, facts about green building and a list of green professionals nationwide. For members, the new site features access to marketing tools, monthly Webinars, newsletters and other benefits available to those who complete their designation.
The site also features a member-exclusive social community, where NAR Green Designees can network with one another, form local groups and share marketing tools and tips on the various blogs and forums.
“This member community will not only allow NAR Green Designees to network with one another on an exclusive level, but it will provide an expansive resource for the latest advice, tools and success stories from active REALTORS® in the heart of green real estate,” said Medina.
NAR’s Green Designation was developed in response to growing consumer awareness of the benefits of resource-efficient homes and buildings. The designation helps consumers who care about energy efficiency and sustainable building practices identify REALTORS® who can help them realize their green real estate and lifestyle goals.
